In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of the property, ensuring that common areas are spotless, well-maintained, and inviting. Your proactive attitude will contribute to a positive living experience for all residents while supporting the ongoing maintenance and custodial needs of the community.
Duties
- Perform routine cleaning and janitorial tasks across common areas, hallways, lobbies, laundry rooms, and outdoor spaces to uphold high standards of sanitation and appearance
- Handle chemical agents safely during cleaning processes, following all chemical handling safety procedures to prevent accidents or exposure
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, mops, and industrial cleaning tools to ensure floors and surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and polished
- Assist with custodial responsibilities including trash removal, window washing, floor care, buffing, and basic residential painting as needed
- Support maintenance by reporting repairs or safety hazards promptly to ensure a secure environment for residents and staff
- Engage with residents courteously, providing friendly customer service while addressing their cleaning or maintenance requests efficiently
- Use proper manual handling techniques for heavy lifting tasks related to cleaning supplies or equipment to prevent injury and adhere to safe lifting practices
Qualifications
- Experience in janitorial or custodial roles within residential or commercial settings preferred but not required
- Familiarity with cleaning procedures involving chemical agents and the safe handling of cleaning supplies
- Experience operating cleaning equipment such as vacuums, and other custodial tools
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper manual handling techniques
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor when interacting with residents and team members
- Prior experience in facilities maintenance or industrial cleaning is preferred but not required; training will be provided for specific tasks such as residential painting or specialized floor care
