As a Systems Assembly Technician, you will be a vital member of our team, responsible for providing equipment maintenance and repair services. With core skills in electrical and mechanical systems you will participate in the initial design process and perform fabrication, assembly, and quality testing of continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS). You will work both independently and as a team on assignments that are moderately complex in which experience and knowledge are required to calibrate instruments and to solve problems. Specific Responsibilities:
- Work with project management, engineering staff and vendors to order material needed for system(s) integration.
- Fabrication and assembly tasks such as manufacture of small components, conduit bending/threading, and power and control circuit wiring following design drawings and accepted fabrication practices.
- Assemble and install components into monitoring systems according to design drawings.
- Route and install gas tubing following design drawings and accepted practices.
- Participate in quality assurance testing and documentation of completed systems prior to shipment to customer location.
- Participate in onsite installation, startup and commissioning activities and final site acceptance testing and documentation at industrial locations.
- Participate in continuous improvement of monitoring systems and components.
- Maintain records and files of readings and data taken during quality testing and preventive maintenance.
- Perform all work according to logic diagrams, electrical and mechanical drawings and sketches, and other written instructions.
Experience and Skills Required:
- Experience with hand and power tools.
- Experience with various test equipment such as multi-meters, pitot tube/manometer, and electronic test equipment to calibrate and troubleshoot instrumentation.
- Experience reading electrical prints and operating manuals.
- Must have good working ability with computers and specifically MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with subordinates, peers, managers, customers and vendors.
- Ability to work out of town and overnight on scheduled and unscheduled trips.
- Able to lift 50+ pounds, climb ladders, work at heights, and work in the elements.
- Possess a valid driver's license insurable by Company's vehicle insurance carrier.
- Successfully enroll in and maintain compliance with DISA random drug and alcohol sampling program.
