Position Summary
Communication Specialist will develop, implement, and manage internal and external communication strategies for America Montessori International – United States (AMI/USA). The Communication Specialist will create engaging content, maintain brand messaging consistency, support public relations initiatives, and strengthen communication channels with staff members, stakeholders, customers, and the public.
Responsibilities & Primary Functions
The Specialist will manage and execute the organization's digital presence and outreach strategies across three primary pillars:
· Website Management & Optimization
o Maintain, update, and audit the organization’s website to ensure all content, resources, and event details are accurate and accessible.
o Improve user experience (UX) and ensure digital accessibility standards are consistently met.
· Social Media Strategy & Engagement
o Develop, schedule, and curate engaging content across all official social media platforms.
o Monitor community engagement, respond to inquiries, and elevate the organization's mission and HRSJ initiatives.
· Marketing & Communications
o Draft, design, and distribute external communications, including newsletters, announcements, and promotional campaigns.
o Ensure all messaging aligns with the organization’s brand voice, strategic goals, and equity principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- [2–5] years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related role.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong editing and proofreading abilities.
- Experience managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and digital communication tools.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and content management systems.
Working Conditions
- Flexible work schedule, such as four (4) full days working or three (3) full working days and two (2) half-days per week.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Flexibility with work hours during peak seasons (such as conferences and major events) to support events or communication activities.
