For more than 20 years, the African American Youth Harvest Foundation (AAYHF) has served thousands of children, youth, adults, and families throughout Central Texas through education, behavioral health, workforce development, food security, youth mentoring, violence prevention, and comprehensive family support services.
AAYHF is also home to the Harvest Trauma Recovery Center (HTRC)—the first Trauma Recovery Center of its kind in the State of Texas—providing trauma-informed services for victims of violent crime, domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, human trafficking, and community violence.
We are seeking an exceptional professional to serve as Executive Assistant to the CEO while leading our digital communications, marketing, fundraising campaigns, and national outreach initiatives.
This is not a traditional Executive Assistant position. It is a leadership opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced nonprofit environment and is passionate about making a measurable impact in the lives of others.
Position Summary
The Executive Assistant to the CEO / Director of Digital Engagement & Fundraising will work directly with Founder and CEO Michael Lofton in managing executive operations while helping lead AAYHF's national fundraising and awareness initiatives.
The successful candidate will combine executive-level administrative expertise with outstanding marketing, storytelling, digital communications, social media management, and fundraising experience.
This individual will help build national awareness of AAYHF's work while supporting campaigns that generate unrestricted funding for our life-changing programs.
IMPORTANT REQUIREMENT
This position requires demonstrated experience in social media marketing, digital fundraising, and communications.

Primary Responsibilities
Executive Support
- Provide executive-level administrative support to the CEO.
- Manage complex calendars, meetings, travel, and scheduling.
- Prepare correspondence, presentations, reports, and executive communications.
- Coordinate Board of Directors meetings and maintain official records.
- Attend meetings with the CEO and provide follow-up documentation.
- Assist with strategic planning and special projects.
- Maintain complete confidentiality.
Digital Marketing & Social Media Leadership
Develop and execute a comprehensive digital marketing strategy across multiple platforms including:
- Facebook
- Instagram
- LinkedIn
- X (Twitter)
- YouTube
- TikTok (Preferred)
Responsibilities include:
- Creating compelling daily content
- Writing engaging stories
- Designing graphics
- Scheduling posts
- Monitoring engagement
- Growing followers
- Building community relationships
- Developing monthly content calendars
- Creating campaigns that inspire action
Fundraising & National Campaign Management
The successful candidate will play a major role in helping AAYHF grow unrestricted funding through innovative fundraising strategies.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing GoFundMe campaigns
- Supporting online fundraising initiatives
- Assisting donor cultivation
- Coordinating crowdfunding campaigns
- Helping develop donor communications
- Creating compelling fundraising content
- Managing email campaigns
- Assisting with sponsorship outreach
- Supporting corporate partnership initiatives
- Helping coordinate fundraising events
AI & Digital Innovation
Candidates must be comfortable utilizing Artificial Intelligence tools to improve productivity and marketing efforts.
Preferred experience includes:

Website & Communications
Maintain and update organizational websites by:
- Posting news
- Updating program information
- Publishing success stories
- Managing event pages
- Supporting SEO efforts
- Coordinating online communications
Graphic Design & Content Creation
Create professional marketing materials including:
- Flyers
- Brochures
- Newsletters
- Annual reports
- Event graphics
- Sponsorship packets
- Presentation materials
- Social media graphics
Preferred software:
- Canva Pro
- Adobe Creative Suite
- Microsoft Publisher
- Photoshop (Preferred)
Video Production
A strong plus is experience producing and editing professional videos for social media and fundraising campaigns.
Examples include:
- Client success stories
- Testimonial videos
- Event recap videos
- Fundraising videos
- Promotional campaigns
- Short-form social media videos
Experience with CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Canva Video, or Final Cut Pro is highly desirable.
Public Relations & Community Engagement
Represent AAYHF professionally by:
- Speaking with donors and community partners
- Assisting with media interviews
- Supporting public presentations
- Coordinating community events
- Helping build national awareness of the Foundation
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred (or equivalent professional experience)
- Minimum 5 years of Executive Assistant experience supporting senior leadership
- Minimum 3 years of professional social media management
- Minimum 3 years of marketing experience
- Experience supporting fundraising campaigns
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional organizational abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
