Job Purpose:
- The Part Time Receiving Coordinator at Utah Food Bank is responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate receipt of goods and materials. This role is vital in maintaining the organization's inventory integrity and supporting the overall mission of providing food assistance to those in need.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the receiving of all incoming shipments, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders.
- Maintain accurate records of received items and update inventory management systems accordingly.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage and handling of goods.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and vendors regarding discrepancies or issues with shipments.
- Assist in the organization and cleanliness of the receiving area to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
- Support the inventory team in conducting regular audits and cycle counts.
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal departments and external partners.
- Adhere to all safety and compliance regulations related to receiving and inventory management.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Experience:
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse environment.
- Experience with inventory management systems and processes.
- Familiarity with food handling and safety regulations is preferred.
- Experience in a non-profit organization or similar setting is advantageous.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items, up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing situations.
