Job Summary
We're seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented BIM Coordinator to launch and lead Building Information Modeling (BIM) for our East Texas division, based in Nacogdoches with regular collaboration in our Houston office. This is a rare ground-floor opportunity: you'll be building the first BIM division in our multi-million dollar company from scratch, with the growth trajectory to match. In this pivotal, high-visibility role, you'll coordinate the development, integration, and maintenance of 3D BIM models and coordination tools, driving seamless collaboration across design, engineering, and construction teams. Your expertise will directly shape how we deliver projects — improving efficiency, accuracy, and innovation — as you help define what BIM excellence looks like across our entire organization. Duties
- Develop, review, and coordinate BIM models using industry-standard software such as Revit, NavisWorks, SketchUp, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and SolidWorks to ensure consistency and quality across project phases.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to establish BIM standards, protocols, and schematics that streamline workflows.
- Manage CAD documentation and drafting activities related to mechanical design, construction schematics, and engineering CAD design to support project specifications.
- Facilitate 3D CAD modeling and BIM integration for complex projects involving mechanical drafting and construction details.
- Oversee CAD detailing processes for mechanical systems, ensuring accurate representation of building components in both 2D and 3D formats.
- Conduct clash detection using NavisWorks to identify potential conflicts early in the design process, minimizing costly errors during construction.
- Maintain comprehensive records of CAD files, BIM models, schematics, and related documentation for easy access and version control.
- Support the development of 2D animation visualizations to enhance project presentations and stakeholder understanding.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools such as Revit, NavisWorks, SketchUp, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and SolidWorks.
- Strong background in mechanical drafting, CAD documentation, engineering CAD design, and CAD detailing.
- Proficiency with various CAD software including AutoCAD and other CAD software used in construction projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in 3D CAD modeling with a focus on mechanical systems and construction schematics.
- Knowledge of construction processes combined with practical experience in mechanical design is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with drafting standards for engineering projects and experience in mechanical drafting is essential.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high accuracy standards.
