American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position requiring a PA or compact RN license and 2 years of experience.

Work in the 1W Med/Surg unit of an acute care hospital
-
28-bed all-private-room unit with a 1:6-7 patient ratio
-
Patient population primarily includes post-surgical and orthopedic cases
-
12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
-
Weekend requirement of every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday) plus 2 Fridays per schedule
-
Floating limited to other Med/Surg units
-
No dedicated cardiac monitors on the unit; remote telemetry monitored by monitor tech
-
Nights staffed with a resource nurse taking a full patient assignment; no CNAs on nights
-
Uses Cerner EMR
-
May manage patients on Heparin and MSO4 drips for comfort measures (no cardiac drips)
-
Vent management (BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow) handled by Respiratory Therapy
-
Active RN license (PA or compact) required
-
BLS certification required
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

BSN not required for this position

Cerner EMR experience preferred

Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility

Copy of unexpired driver's license required for consideration
-
Any hits on professional license must be disclosed at time of consideration

Provide direct patient care for post-surgical and orthopedic Med/Surg patients

One-shift floor orientation with a preceptor provided
-
Scrub color required is navy blue, including jackets if worn
-
Holiday coverage required as part of the standard staff holiday rotation

Self-scheduling and blocked schedules allowed as long as unit needs are met

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Returning travelers to any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying

Travelers cannot work within WVU Medicine facilities for longer than one year without taking a 2-year break
