Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our team and ensure the accurate recording and management of financial transactions. In this vital role, you will handle a variety of accounting functions, including maintaining the general ledger, reconciling accounts, processing payroll, and preparing financial reports. Your expertise will help support our organization’s financial health and compliance with industry standards such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Duties
- Manage daily bookkeeping activities including data entry of journal entries, debits & credits, and account analysis using software.
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy across all financial accounts.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently while maintaining detailed records.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Prepare and review financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements in compliance with GAAP standards.
- Handle payroll processing accurately, ensuring timely payments and proper tax reporting.
- Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses against forecasts and assisting with financial planning efforts.
- Maintain compliance with governmental accounting regulations and assist with tax preparation activities when needed.
- Utilize technical accounting knowledge to assist with complex transactions involving governmental or nonprofit entities.
Experience
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles within corporate or non-profit organizations.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms is essential.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger accounting practices.
- Experience with bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, journal entries, and financial report writing is required.
- Familiarity with governmental or nonprofit accounting standards is a plus.
- Ability to perform 10-key typing accurately along with excellent attention to detail for account analysis and data entry tasks.
- Knowledge of payroll processes and tax experience will enhance your effectiveness in this role.
