Responsibilities
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, incorporating literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
- Lead daily classroom activities that promote active engagement, creativity, and exploration among preschoolers.
- Manage classroom behavior through positive behavior management strategies to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum enhancements and share best practices in early childhood instruction.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children’s progress, milestones, and any concerns to foster strong home-school connections.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate records of children's development and attendance.
- Support children with special needs through individualized instruction and coordination with specialists in early intervention or special education when necessary.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with young children in a preschool or childcare setting, demonstrating strong classroom management skills.
- Knowledge of child development principles, early childhood education practices, and curriculum development.
- Experience with behavior management techniques and creating inclusive learning environments for diverse learners.
- Certification in first aid and CPR; additional training in childhood welfare or special education is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare.
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate literacy education, physical activity, math concepts, and social-emotional learning strategies.
- Strong organizational skills to manage lesson planning, documentation, and classroom routines efficiently.
