A respected community health network serving New Yorkers is seeking a Deputy Director to lead and grow its Psychiatric NP Fellowship Program.
This organization operates a network of federally qualified health centers the city, along with mobile health units that bring care directly to underserved communities. They provide high-quality, judgment-free care to all, regardless of background, identity, or ability to pay.
What You'll Be Doing
- Performing psychiatric evaluations for new patients and medication management for established patients
- Acting as primary preceptor for Psychiatric NP Fellows, guiding and mentoring them in patient care at the health center
- Being accessible to fellows via phone or messaging to answer clinical questions
- Developing and implementing fellowship curriculum, lecture rotations, assignments, and case conferencing
- Planning the lecture and rotation schedule for the fellowship year
- Reviewing and evaluating fellows' assignments and lecture feedback
- Participating in recruiting and hiring new fellows
- Collaborating with outside consultants and experts to support program growth
- Maintaining strong relationships with external community agency partners
- Refining and implementing program evaluation methods
- Reviewing complex patient cases to determine treatment course or need for referral
- Consulting regularly with the Director of Psychiatry and Director of Mental Health
- Maintaining chart documentation in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards
- Traveling between mental health treatment sites as needed
What You'll Bring
- Current NYS license as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
- Three or more years of experience as a Psychiatric NP, ideally in a community-based mental health clinic setting
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and curriculum development skills
