Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assist in the assembly of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Conduct food preparation tasks such as slicing, dicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients with precision using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Follow food safety standards in all aspects of food handling, storage, and sanitation to ensure a safe dining environment
- Support kitchen operations by maintaining cleanliness, organization, and safety standards throughout the food production area
- Assist with menu planning by preparing ingredients for upcoming service periods and catering events
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of high-quality meals during busy service hours
- Adhere to safety standards in production, including proper use of kitchen equipment and handling hazardous materials responsibly
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a food service or restaurant environment, particularly in culinary or kitchen roles
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production environments
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient preparation
- Experience with meal preparation, food handling, and catering operations preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Excellent teamwork skills combined with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
