Responsibilities
- Assist senior stylists with client preparation, including shampooing, conditioning, and setting up tools and products for hair treatments.
- Maintain salon sanitation standards by cleaning stations, tools, and equipment regularly.
- Support with hair coloring, extensions, and styling techniques under supervision to enhance client satisfaction.
- Manage appointment schedules using salon software such as Meevo to ensure smooth operations.
- Engage with clients through effective communication, offering product recommendations and upselling additional services like makeup application or hair care products.
- Help with store management tasks including inventory checks and product restocking to keep the salon well-organized.
- Learn and adhere to all sanitation protocols, including proper sterilization of tools like straight razors and barbering equipment.
- Answering phones, booking appointments and cofirming appointments.
Experience
- Previous experience working in the beauty industry or a cosmetology environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential.
- Familiarity with salon software platforms such as MINDBODY is a plus.
- Knowledge of hair care techniques, hair coloring, hair extensions, and basic barbering skills will be advantageous.
- Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration are necessary.
- Understanding of sanitation practices and store management procedures ensures a safe and efficient work environment.
- A background in cosmetology or barbering certification is beneficial but not mandatory; ongoing mentoring opportunities are available for growth-minded candidates.
