NSC Skilled Trades is seeking 2 Welder/Fabricators for a temp-to-perm custom fabrication opportunity in Burlington, NC.
This is a custom job shop position, not repetitive production welding. Candidates need to be comfortable switching between different materials and welding processes while building one-off parts and projects from drawings, prints, and sketches.
JOB DETAILS:
PAY: $25–$29/hr
START: ASAP
DURATION: Temp-to-Perm
HOURS: 40 hrs/week
SCHEDULE: Monday–Thursday (4 x 10s)
TIME: 6:00 am – 4:30 pm
LOCATION: Burlington, NC
SCOPE:
- TIG and MIG weld steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
- Layout, fit, and fabricate custom parts from raw materials
- Build projects from sketches and engineering blueprints
- Operate press brakes, shears, bandsaws, grinders, and other fabrication equipment
- Build custom jigs and fixtures for precise assembly
- Measure and verify finished work using calipers, tape measures, and squares
- Determine fabrication sequences for complex, non-standard projects
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 5 years of custom job shop/fabrication experience
- Strong TIG and MIG welding skills
- Experience working with steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
- Ability to independently read blueprints, fabrication drawings, and sketches
- Strong layout, fitting, shop math, and problem-solving skills
- Must pass a 3/8" grooved plate MIG weld test on carbon steel without a backing plate
- Must pass a 5-panel drug screen and background check
