Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain commercial roofing systems using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute roofing projects.
- Prepare work sites by performing tasks such as framing, metal stud framing, or concrete forming as needed for roofing structures.
- Utilize fabrication skills to cut, shape, and assemble materials like metal sheets, stucco, tile, or other roofing components.
- Apply caulking, sealants, and perform trim carpentry to ensure watertight finishes and professional aesthetics.
- Conduct heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely to transport supplies around the job site.
- Assist with restoration and remodeling projects involving roofing systems or related structures.
- Use schematics and technical instructions to troubleshoot issues during installation or repairs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to all safety protocols on construction sites.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while ensuring quality standards are met.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction site work with a focus on roofing or related trades such as carpentry, masonry, or remodeling.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques relevant to roofing projects.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings specific to commercial roofing systems.
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes is a plus for understanding project scope and resource planning.
- Hands-on experience with various construction disciplines including plumbing, tile laying, heavy lifting, metal stud framing, stucco application, and restoration work.
- Prior handyman experience or general construction background preferred for versatile project support.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting and working at heights safely.
