American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, Epic proficiency, and night shift availability.

Acute care ICU setting with 16 beds
-
Patient population includes a variety of high-acuity ICU patients including vented patients, BIS scoring, TTM, and occasional IABP
-
Patient ratio is 1:2, occasionally 1:3
-
RNs are required to titrate drips including vasopressors/inotropes, sedatives, heparin, octreotide, and insulin
-
eICU support is available in 14 of the 16 rooms
-
A charge nurse is present on each shift and carries an assignment
-
No nurse aides or patient care techs on the unit
-
Charting is done in Epic
-
12-hour night shifts (7p–7a)
-
Every 3rd weekend required (Friday and Saturday nights count as weekend shifts); 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling period

Holidays are rotated with permanent staff

Floating to PCU or MedSurg may be required
-
13-week contract
-
Active NE state or compact (NLC) RN license required; pending licenses are not accepted

Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; pending certifications are not accepted

Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required

Epic EMR experience required

Driver's license required for consideration and is used to verify residence outside the 50-mile radius

Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility

Candidates may not currently be employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) at any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI or Dignity Health

Orientation consists of classroom training followed by 2 twelve-hour shifts on the unit
-
A pass/fail open-book exam is administered on the Friday of orientation week; a score of 90% or higher is required to pass — failure to pass results in contract termination

Navy blue scrubs are required
-
Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to remove them will result in contract termination
-
RTO requests of 7 days or fewer per 13-week contract must be submitted upfront; additional RTO will not be approved
