Responsibilities
- Monitor residents closely through resident observation and behavioral assessments to ensure safety and well-being.
- Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviors effectively.
- Support medication administration processes following proper protocols and medical terminology standards.
- Implement behavior intervention plans tailored to individual needs, promoting positive behavioral changes.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of resident care activities, including resident monitoring and behavioral progress notes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including psychiatry professionals—to deliver comprehensive psychiatric care and support patient recovery efforts.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in acute care settings or behavioral health hospitals is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working with individuals with disabilities or mental health conditions, including those with substance use disorders.
- Knowledge of psychiatric patient care, crisis prevention, and de-escalation techniques is essential; advanced training in crisis prevention and trauma informed care is highly recommended.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, patient observation methods, and behavioral management strategies.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required;
- Experience working within behavioral health residential facilities or standard group home settings is advantageous.
- Strong client communication skills coupled with the ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining compassion and professionalism.
