Job Summary
Join our dedicated team as a Group Home Live-In Support Worker specializing in Mental Health and Human Services (HCS). Duties
- Offer direct support to residents by assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and emotional well-being.
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and document medication administration meticulously.
- Facilitate communication using various methods such as American Sign Language or other alternative communication tools when needed.
- Collect and record data related to residents’ progress, behaviors, and health status to inform care plans.
- Support residents with home and community integration activities, encouraging independence and social engagement.
- Assist with transportation needs by safely driving residents to appointments, activities, or community outings.
- Collaborate with team members, families, and healthcare professionals to develop personalized care plans that meet each individual’s unique needs.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to all safety protocols and conducting routine safety checks within the home.
Experience
- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is highly preferred.
- Background in behavioral health or behavior management techniques is advantageous.
- Experience in home and community care settings demonstrating caregiving skills and compassion.
- Familiarity with assisting individuals with ADLs and providing personal care support.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and documentation practices.
- Strong communication skills including experience using American Sign Language or other alternative communication methods are beneficial.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for transportation responsibilities.
