Position Summary
Mission Critical Interior Solutions (MCIS) is currently seeking an experienced Telehandler Operator to support our CDR project. This position is responsible for safely operating telehandler equipment to move, lift, stage, and offload heavy construction materials throughout the jobsite.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating telehandlers in an active construction environment, a strong understanding of load safety and material handling, and the ability to help direct team members during loading and unloading activities.
This is a hands-on position. When equipment operation is not required, the Telehandler Operator will be expected to assist the field team with other jobsite duties as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a telehandler to lift, transport, stage, and offload heavy construction materials.
- Inspect equipment before operation and report any safety or mechanical concerns.
- Properly position forks, attachments, and loads according to site and equipment requirements.
- Direct and communicate with team members during loading, unloading, and material movement activities.
- Ensure materials and loads are properly secured before movement.
- Maintain awareness of equipment capacity, load limits, ground conditions, overhead hazards, and surrounding personnel.
- Follow all company, project, and jobsite safety policies, processes, and procedures.
- Maintain clear communication with spotters, supervisors, and other field personnel.
- Assist with material handling, site organization, installation support, and other construction-related duties when not operating equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Participate in daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and job hazard assessments as required.
Qualifications
- Previous professional experience operating a telehandler/forklift in a construction environment required.
- Experience offloading and moving heavy construction materials.
- Strong understanding of load capacity, load securing, equipment stability, and safe lifting practices.
- Ability to effectively direct and communicate with team members and spotters.
- Strong understanding of construction-site safety procedures and equipment operation.
- Ability to work safely around active construction operations, equipment, and personnel.
- Willingness to perform additional field and construction duties when equipment operation is not needed.
- Ability to work outdoors and in varying jobsite conditions.
- Dependable transportation and reliable attendance.
- Ability to work required project schedules, including overtime when necessary.
- Telehandler/forklift certification preferred or required based on project requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb in and out of equipment throughout the workday.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work on an active construction site for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry construction materials and equipment as required.
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
