We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral examinations
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis
- Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control measures aligned with healthcare standards and HIPAA compliance
Skills
- Proficiency with dental software platforms like Eaglesoft and Dentrix for record management and documentation review
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding practices
- Experience in pediatric dentistry, including working with children in a pediatric dentistry setting or general practice with pediatric patients
- Skilled in dental assisting procedures such as chairside assisting, dental equipment operation, and X-ray management
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, providing clear client communication and patient education
- Expertise in healthcare infection prevention and control management to ensure a safe clinical environment
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations for maintaining patient confidentiality and managing medical records securely
