Summary/Objective
The Leasing Assistant will assist the Leasing Specialist in certifying applicants.
Essential Functions

Contact applicants' previous landlords to verify 5 years of housing history.

Conduct background screening reports.

Contact applicants who have reached the top of the waiting lists and ensure the correct application packets are sent to them.

Maintain appropriate numbers of the various application packets and forms.

Assist with printing and assembly of application packets and updating of packets as needed.

Assist with annual archiving of documents.

Assist with various clerical tasks as needed.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Work Environment
The Leasing Assistant generally works in an office environment.
Physical Demands
This position requires sitting at a desk for extended periods of time and a significant amount of time on the phone.
- Must be able to push/pull/lift up to 30 pounds
Travel Required
- May need to travel to co-ops on occasion.
Required Education and Experience

High School Diploma

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) regulation requires all employees—citizens, residents, and nonresidents—to complete Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification. Employees are not allowed to work in the United States until the Form I-9 is completed and properly documented.
