Position Purpose
Braselton Christian Academy is seeking a caring, dependable, and student-focused Assistant Elementary Sped Teacher to support classroom instruction and student success in our elementary grades.
The Elementary Teacher works to help create a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment. This position plays a vital role in supporting daily classroom operations, assisting students academically and behaviorally, and helping maintain a safe and productive educational setting.
The ideal candidate is passionate about working with children, demonstrates strong teamwork skills, and is committed to helping students grow academically, socially, and spiritually.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesClassroom Support
- Implement daily instructional activities.
- Support small-group and one-on-one instruction as directed.
- Reinforce classroom lessons and learning objectives.
- Assist students who require additional academic support.
- Help prepare instructional materials and classroom resources.
- Monitor students during classroom activities, transitions, and special events.
Student Supervision
- Maintain a safe, positive, and respectful learning environment.
- Assist with classroom management and behavior expectations.
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal, and other assigned duties.
- Encourage positive student interactions and engagement.
Administrative Support
- Assist with grading, recordkeeping, and classroom organization.
- Prepare classroom materials, copies, and learning centers.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Attendance tracking and student documentation as needed.
Collaboration and School Participation
- Work cooperatively with teachers, staff, and administration.
- Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Participate in school events, activities, and special programs.
- Support the academy's mission, values, and educational goals.
Qualifications
Preferred candidates will possess:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate's Degree or college coursework in Education preferred.
- Experience working with children in an educational, childcare, or youth development setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Positive attitude and willingness to assist where needed.
- Commitment to maintaining a structured and nurturing learning environment.

Work Schedule
- Full-Time Position
- Monday through Friday
- Approximately 35–40 hours per week
- School Day Schedule: 7:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Compensation
Compensation will be based upon experience, education, and the academy's operating budget.
Braselton Christian Academy is a private educational institution and does not participate in the Georgia State Teacher Retirement System or follow state teacher salary schedules.
