Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Generator Maintenance Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the inspection, repair, and maintenance of power generation systems, including diesel engines and electrical components. Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on generators, diesel engines, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using schematics and electrical diagnostics tools, identifying faults quickly and accurately.
- Repair and replace engine components, including small engines and large power generation equipment, adhering to safety standards.
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other mechanical tools to execute repairs efficiently.
- Interpret technical schematics and mechanical drawings to diagnose problems and implement solutions effectively.
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely during equipment installation or maintenance procedures.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports of all maintenance activities for compliance and future reference.
Requirements
- Proven dealership experience or service technician background with a focus on automotive or heavy machinery repair.
- Extensive experience with diesel engine repair, electrical diagnostics, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of power generation systems, engines, and mechanical systems repair.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals related to electrical work and engine diagnostics.
- Hands-on experience with vehicle maintenance, small engine maintenance, welding, soldering, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining manual handling standards.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Knowledge of Caterpillar equipment or similar heavy-duty machinery is a plus.
