Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner — PMHNP
Flexible On-Site Private Practice Opportunity
The Center for Psychological Services & Life Coaching
Greensburg / Westmoreland County, PA
Part-Time | On-Site | One to Two Days Per Week to Start | Evenings and Saturdays Possible
The Center for Psychological Services & Life Coaching is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner — PMHNP to provide psychiatric evaluation and medication management services within our growing multidisciplinary behavioral health practice.
This is a flexible, part-time opportunity for an experienced psychiatric provider who is interested in building a small outpatient caseload in a professional private-practice setting. This may be an excellent fit for a PMHNP who is currently employed elsewhere and is looking for supplemental clinical work, or for a provider who wants to add private-practice hours without stepping into a high-volume or overly rigid schedule.
The position will begin at approximately one to two days per week, with the understanding that credentialing, referrals, and caseload development take time. This is a build-to-fit model. The schedule may grow gradually based on provider availability, credentialing status, patient demand, and practice needs.
While the role is on-site, the work does not necessarily need to occur only during traditional daytime hours. Once the provider is established with the practice and comfortable with our systems, workflow, and care expectations, evening and/or Saturday availability may be an excellent fit for this position.
About The Center
The Center for Psychological Services & Life Coaching is a Christian, faith-based group psychology practice located in an upscale medical office building with other professional and medical groups. Our office is conveniently located near Route 30 and Route 119, providing easy access for both clinical staff and patients.
We are a multidisciplinary outpatient behavioral health practice serving children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Our team values clinical excellence, ethical care, professional collaboration, and whole-person healing.
We serve patients from many backgrounds. At the same time, many of our patients and families appreciate a practice environment where Christian faith is respected and may be integrated into the treatment process when clinically appropriate and patient-led.
The Opportunity
This role is designed for a PMHNP who values flexibility, professionalism, and collaborative outpatient care.
The Center offers a strong foundation for psychiatric medication management, including an experienced Nurse Practitioner, GeneSight testing access, established administrative and billing support, multidisciplinary collaboration, and existing referral pathways. We are seeking an additional PMHNP to help expand access to care through a flexible, build-to-fit model.
We are especially interested in a provider who can serve across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, and adults. Pediatric and adolescent psychiatric care is a significant need in our practice and community, and a provider who is comfortable working with younger populations would be a strong fit.
This position may be especially attractive for a PMHNP who:
- Is seeking supplemental outpatient psychiatric work
- Wants to build a private-practice caseload gradually
- Is currently working elsewhere and wants to add evening or Saturday clinical hours
- Prefers a flexible, part-time model rather than a full-time role
- Is interested in on-site private-practice work in a professional setting
- Can serve pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients
- Values collaboration with therapists, psychologists, and other behavioral health professionals
- Wants administrative, billing, and credentialing support
- Appreciates a faith-friendly clinical environment
We are seeking an advanced practice provider who can practice independently within the scope of licensure, certification, competency, and the applicable collaborative agreement.
Ideal Candidate
The strongest candidate will be a PMHNP who is already credentialed or paneled with major insurance companies and able to serve both pediatric and adult populations.
Ideal candidates may have:
- PMHNP certification
- Experience with children, adolescents, and adults
- Ability to serve patients across the lifespan
- Current credentialing with Medicaid
- Current credentialing with Medicare
- Current credentialing with major commercial insurance plans
- Experience with outpatient psychiatric evaluation and medication management
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- A steady, professional, responsive clinical presence
- Comfort working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary practice
Credentialing with Medicaid and Medicare is especially valuable. Established credentialing with major commercial plans such as Highmark, UPMC, Optum, Aetna, and related payers is also strongly preferred.
We will provide support with credentialing when needed; however, candidates should understand that credentialing can take time and will affect how quickly the caseload can grow.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, PMHNP
- Active and unrestricted license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to practice on-site at our Greensburg-area office
- Ability to participate in credentialing with major insurance companies as needed
- Eligibility for a collaborative agreement with a licensed psychiatrist in Pennsylvania
The Center will provide support related to credentialing and collaborative agreement fees/costs as appropriate for the position and practice needs.
Clinical Responsibilities
The PMHNP will provide psychiatric care within the scope of licensure, certification, training, competency, and the applicable collaborative agreement. Responsibilities may include:
- Conducting psychiatric evaluations and medication management appointments
- Assessing behavioral health, medical, developmental, emotional, social, and family factors relevant to care
- Diagnosing psychiatric and behavioral health conditions as appropriate
- Developing and implementing treatment plans
- Prescribing psychiatric medication when clinically indicated and within scope of practice
- Monitoring patient response to medication and treatment
- Reviewing relevant clinical information, including medication lists, allergies, diagnoses, vitals, and health history
- Utilizing tools such as GeneSight testing when clinically appropriate and consistent with practice procedures
- Collaborating with therapists, psychologists, supervisors, and other clinical team members
- Coordinating care with outside medical providers, schools, agencies, families, and other supports as clinically appropriate
- Identifying urgent or high-risk clinical concerns and making appropriate referrals to emergency, crisis, psychiatric, or higher levels of care when needed
- Providing care that is ethical, clinically sound, patient-centered, and consistent with the mission and values of The Center
Administrative Responsibilities
The PMHNP will be expected to:
- Complete documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate electronic health records
- Complete intake, progress note, treatment planning, and medication management documentation as required
- Cooperate with credentialing, payer requirements, audits, and compliance reviews
- Follow HIPAA requirements and all relevant privacy and documentation standards
- Learn and use the practice’s electronic health record system
- Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, staff, providers, and outside professionals
- Respond to clinical needs, voicemails, and care coordination matters in a timely and ethical manner
- Participate in required trainings and practice procedures
Schedule and Availability
This is a part-time, on-site position beginning at approximately one to two days per week.
The schedule will be developed based on the provider’s availability, credentialing status, patient demand, and practice needs. Because this is a growth position, the provider should be comfortable with a gradual caseload build rather than expecting an immediately full schedule.
This position does not have to be limited to traditional daytime hours. Once established with the practice, evening and/or Saturday hours may be a strong fit, particularly for children, adolescents, families, and working adults who need appointments outside of the standard workday.
What We Provide
The Center provides a supportive private-practice environment with the structure and resources of an established clinical team. Position supports may include:
- W-2 employment structure
- Credentialing support
- Billing support
- Support with collaborative agreement fees/costs as appropriate
- Beautiful, fully furnished professional office space
- Referrals from an established multidisciplinary behavioral health practice
- Existing medication management workflows

This position is a strong opportunity for a psychiatric provider who wants to offer meaningful outpatient care in a flexible, on-site private-practice model.
