Seeking a Bi-Lingual Direct Support Professional for Part-Time hours (Mon-Fri 7:30am-9:30am) in Haledon
Faith Community-Based Support program is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSP's) to work directly with adults with intellectual disabilities while promoting their personal, physical and emotional wellbeing. The primary role of the Direct Support Professional is to support individuals with developmental disabilities to live fuller, more independent, and joyful lives. Being a member of our DSP team means looking beyond a diagnosis and focusing on the whole person- their strengths, interests, and dreams. We work closely with individuals and families to create personalized plans that build skills, increase confidence, and open doors to meaningful experiences at home and in the community.
Community-Based Support

Through the guidance of the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), we provide tailored programs that meet each person’s unique needs and goals, whether at home, at work, or out in the community. Our approach blends professional care with genuine compassion, so every individual feels supported, valued, and empowered.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish positive working relationships with persons receiving services, co-workers, management and the public.
- Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with parents, guardians and other professionals.
- Implement outlined Habilitation and Behavioral Support plans/programs.
- Assist with personal care of persons receiving support as needed.
- Administer prescribed medications to persons receiving support after successful completion of medication administration course.
- Assist individuals with planning and participating in community activities.
- Drive agency vehicles for transportation of persons receiving support and adhere to all related vehicle operation policies.
About You
You are the ideal candidate if you enjoy working in the social services field while empowering underserved communities. Being compassionate, reliable, self-motivated, and a team player are critical attributes to be successful in this role.
- You have a High school diploma or GED
- You have a valid driver’s license.
- You have CPR/First Aid certification
- You have at least 1 years of experience working with people with intellectual disabilities.
- You have good counseling, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- DSP certification a plus
- Authorized to work in the US
- Willing to undergo criminal background check and fingerprinting

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
