Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for sleep studies by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort
- Monitor patients throughout overnight or daytime sleep sessions using specialized equipment
- Record vital signs, physiological data, and sleep behaviors accurately during studies
- Perform physical examinations and assess anatomy relevant to sleep disorders
- Maintain detailed documentation of each study, including medical terminology and diagnostic findings
- Collaborate with physicians to interpret sleep data and support diagnostic evaluation processes
- Ensure all equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and used according to safety standards
Skills
- Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy techniques and physiology principles
- Proficiency in conducting physical examinations and understanding anatomy related to sleep disorders
- Familiarity with medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and diagnostic evaluation methods
- Experience working in a sleep center environment or conducting sleep studies is highly desirable
- Excellent understanding of sleep medicine practices and patient care protocols
- Ability to perform comprehensive assessments involving physiology and anatomy knowledge
- Effective communication skills for patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration
