Automotive Parts Inspector – Job Description
Responsible for inspecting automotive parts and components to ensure they meet quality, safety, and production standards.
Key duties:

Inspect incoming, in-process, and finished automotive parts for defects.

Check parts for proper dimensions, fit, finish, and workmanship.

Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and inspection equipment.

Identify damaged, defective, or incorrectly manufactured parts.

Record inspection results and maintain quality-control documentation.
-
Follow work instructions, specifications, and safety procedures.

Separate and label defective parts for rework or rejection.

Communicate quality issues to supervisors and production personnel.

Perform visual inspections and, when required, functional tests.

Maintain a clean and organized inspection area.
Typical requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Ability to read work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
-
Basic knowledge of automotive parts and manufacturing processes.

Good attention to detail.
-
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move parts as required.
-
Previous manufacturing, warehouse, automotive, or quality-control experience is often preferred.
