Position Overview
Central Florida Preparatory School is seeking an energetic and reliable Activities Teacher Assistant to support student programming throughout the school day and in aftercare (10:00 AM – 6:30 PM). This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with students in both structured classroom settings and active, hands-on environments including enrichment, recreation, and after-school programming.
You will play a key role in maintaining a safe, engaging, and well-managed environment while supporting both academic and extracurricular experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Classroom & Midday Support
- Assist teachers with classroom activities, preparation of materials, and student supervision
- Support transitions, lunch, recess, and specials
- Reinforce positive behavior and classroom expectations
Aftercare & Activities (Core Focus of Role)
- Lead and support structured after-school activities, games, and enrichment programs
- Supervise students in indoor and outdoor settings ensuring safety and engagement
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and energetic environment for all students
- Support homework time and provide basic academic assistance as needed
Student Engagement & Supervision
- Build strong, positive relationships with students
- Encourage participation, teamwork, and respectful behavior
- Monitor and manage student behavior using consistent expectations and positive reinforcement
Operations & Communication
- Assist with attendance tracking and dismissal procedures
- Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and parents as needed
- Support general organization of materials and activity spaces
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma required; Associate’s degree or coursework in Education or related field preferred
- Experience: Experience working with children in a school, camp, daycare, or aftercare setting preferred

- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to be active and engaged throughout the day
