Community Crisis Stabilization & Mobile Crisis Response Counselor

Position Overview
We are hiring QMHPs, CSACs, and LMHPs (Licensed or Licensed-Eligible) to provide Community Crisis Stabilization and Mobile Crisis Response services. Mobile Crisis Response Certification is preferred but not required.
Counselors will work with individuals experiencing acute behavioral health crises who are at risk of hospitalization, emergency department utilization, or out-of-home placement. Services may include immediate Mobile Crisis Response interventions (up to 72 hours/3 days) and Community Crisis Stabilization services (up to 14 days) to support recovery and community integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Mobile Crisis Response services, including crisis assessment, de-escalation, safety planning, and linkage to community resources for up to 72 hours following a behavioral health crisis.
- Provide Community Crisis Stabilization services (typically 3–4 hours per day for up to 14 days) to assist individuals in safely remaining within their homes and communities.
- Conduct assessments, crisis intervention, risk evaluations, and safety planning.
- Coordinate and implement Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) in a timely manner.
- Facilitate admissions, discharges, and transitions to ongoing behavioral health services.
- Engage families, caregivers, and natural supports in the stabilization process.
- Collaborate with hospitals, emergency services, schools, law enforcement, and community partners as appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with DBHDS, Medicaid, and agency standards.
- Complete Serious Incident Reports within required timelines.
- Participate in weekly clinical supervision, case staffing, and team meetings.
- Complete file audits and quality assurance activities as needed.
- Document services accurately, thoroughly, and within required timeframes.
- Report and address all Human Rights incidents in accordance with agency policy.
- Collaborate with supervisors, program directors, and community resources to ensure client safety and positive outcomes.
Qualifications
Required:
- Registration (or eligibility for registration) as a QMHP-A, QMHP-C, CSAC, CSAC-A, LMHP, LMHP-R, LMHP-RP, or LMHP-S with the Virginia Board of Counseling or Board of Social Work.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and active automobile insurance.
- Ability to obtain official college transcripts.
- Commitment to attend bi-monthly company meetings (virtual or at our Norfolk office).
Preferred:
- Mobile Crisis Response (MCR) Certification.
- Experience providing Community Crisis Stabilization and/or Mobile Crisis services.
- Knowledge of community mental health resources and crisis intervention best practices.
- Experience working with adults, adolescents, and children experiencing behavioral health crises.
Compensation
Compensation is based on credentials, experience, certification status, and service type.
Assessment Services
- Initial Assessments, Crisis Assessments, and Service Authorization Packets: $250–$300 per completed assessment package
Community-Based Services
- Community Crisis Stabilization (CCS) and Mobile Crisis Response (MCR) Services: $35–$50 per hour based on credentials, experience, and certification status.
Additional Compensation
- Mileage reimbursement included for approved community-based services.
- Clinical supervision opportunities available for eligible staff.
