Responsibilities
- Prepare cold food items such as salads, sandwiches, garnishes, and other pantry essentials following established recipes and standards
- Organize and maintain the pantry area, ensuring ingredients are properly stored, labeled, and rotated for freshness
- Assist with food preparation tasks including chopping, portioning, and assembling ingredients for various menu items
- Follow food safety protocols diligently to ensure cleanliness, proper handling, and sanitation of all food products
- Support the kitchen team during meal prep by providing timely and accurate ingredient assembly
- Maintain a clean work environment by sanitizing work surfaces, utensils, and storage areas regularly
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow during busy service periods
Experience
- Previous experience in a dietary department or food service setting is highly preferred
- Experience as a dietary aide or in a similar role within healthcare or hospitality environments is advantageous
- Knowledge of menu planning and food preparation techniques is beneficial
- Familiarity with food handling safety standards and sanitation practices is essential
- Kitchen or restaurant experience that demonstrates proficiency in food industry operations is desirable
- Skills in knife handling, meal preparation, and cooking techniques are valuable assets
- Prior experience in catering or serving roles can enhance your ability to succeed in this position
