Position Description: The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance processes within the manufacturing plant. This role ensures that products meet established standards of quality including reliability, usability, and performance. The Supervisor will lead a team of Quality Assurance Coordinators and collaborate with the production and management teams to resolve quality issues.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the quality assurance team.
- Develop and implement quality assurance policies and procedures.
- Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Investigate and resolve quality issues and customer complaints.
- Conduct internal audits and support external audits.
- Maintain documentation related to quality assurance activities.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure incoming materials meet quality requirements.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes for supplier-related issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality assurance, with a focus on supplier quality in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of supplier quality processes, including PPAP, APQP, and supplier audits.
- Experience with ISO 9001 or other relevant quality standards.
- Proficiency in quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, and root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Certification in quality (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Auditor) is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds.
