Adams & Martin Group is working with a fast-growing national law firm to identify a Litigation Legal Assistant to support its San Francisco office. This direct hire opportunity offers a hybrid schedule after training and is well suited for an experienced litigation professional who is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable supporting multiple attorneys while assisting with both litigation and office operations.
- Provide comprehensive litigation and administrative support to up to five attorneys, including partners and associates
- Assist with conflicts checks and opening new matters
- Review documents and correspondence for accuracy and completeness
- Draft, proofread, and finalize pleadings, motions, discovery shells, and legal correspondence
- Prepare exhibits and supporting documents for court filings
- Download, save, and organize court filings and related case documents
- Coordinate hearings, mediations, conferences, and other litigation-related events
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and vendors
- Enter attorney time, review prebills, track client budgets, and assist with administrative tasks as needed
- Prepare, finalize, and submit filings in California state courts, federal courts, and tribunals
- Manage e-filing through systems including PACER, CM/ECF, TrueFiling, and other filing platforms
- Maintain compliance with court rules, procedures, and filing deadlines
- Assist with appellate filings and procedures; experience in appellate courts is highly desirable
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files with strong attention to detail
- Manage attorney calendars, court deadlines, hearings, meetings, and litigation schedules
- Maintain accurate docketing and case management records
- Track critical deadlines and ensure timely completion of all litigation-related tasks
- Support attorneys with ongoing case organization and workflow management
- Order and maintain office and kitchen supplies
- Coordinate reception duties, mail processing, and deliveries
- Handle photocopying, scanning, and document management projects
- Maintain offsite file storage and office organization
- Serve as a point of contact for office equipment and building maintenance requests
- Arrange travel, process expense reports, and assist with reimbursements
- 7+ years of litigation legal assistant experience required
- Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a law firm environment required
- Strong litigation experience, including complex litigation matters
- Advanced knowledge of California state and federal court filing procedures required
- Strong e-filing experience in state, federal, and appellate courts required
- Appellate court filing experience highly preferred
- Experience with tribal courts and administrative tribunals is a plus
- Experience with legal software including PACER, CM/ECF, ShareFile, TrueFiling, LawToolBox, or similar platforms
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required
- Experience with e-discovery platforms such as RelativityOne, Nextpoint, Lexbe, or similar systems preferred
- Strong proofreading, document editing, and billing review skills
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and strong attendance record
- Salary range: $90,000 - $110,000 annually, depending on experience
