Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Furniture Cutter to join our production team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of cutting experience in the furniture manufacturing industry and be skilled in working with fabric and leather materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Review job tickets and production paperwork to determine material and cutting requirements
- Verify and select the correct fabric, vinyl, or leather for each job
- Identify and use the appropriate patterns and templates for the product being manufactured
- Layout materials according to production requirements and material yield standards
- Mark and outline furniture components, including seat, back, arm, and other pattern pieces
- Cut materials using scissors, electric cutting equipment, and other approved cutting tools
- Inspect materials for defects, flaws, or inconsistencies prior to cutting
- Attach job tickets and identification paperwork to completed cut bundles
- Transfer completed materials to the sewing department in accordance with production schedules
- Maintain accurate material usage and minimize waste whenever possible
- Follow established quality, safety, and production procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of cutting experience in the furniture manufacturing industry
- Experience working with fabric, vinyl, and leather materials
- Knowledge of furniture patterns, templates, and material layout techniques
- Ability to read and follow job tickets, work orders, and production instructions
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to meet production requirements while maintaining quality standards
- Ability to safely operate manual and electric cutting equipment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods during the workday
- Frequent reaching, bending, and repetitive hand movements
- Ability to lift, move, and handle rolls of fabric, leather, and cut materials
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with production deadlines
Work Schedule
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
