We are seeking a skilled Insurance Billing and Collections Specialist to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will play a key role in managing our billing and collections processes, helping to ensure the smooth operation of our financial department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Claims Processing: Accurately handle the initial billing of claims, ensuring all necessary information is correctly entered and submitted to insurance companies.
- Claims Rebilling: Manage the rebilling of claims as needed, addressing any discrepancies or issues that may arise.
- Collections: Oversee collections related to insurance claims, including making follow-up calls to insurance companies regarding unpaid or denied claims.
- Payment Posting: Accurately post payments to accounts, reconciling discrepancies and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Accounts Receivable: Perform general accounts receivable duties, including tracking outstanding balances and resolving billing issues.
Preferred Skills:
- Proven experience in insurance billing and collections, preferably within a healthcare or addiction treatment setting.
- Strong understanding of billing processes, insurance claims, and collections procedures.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with insurance companies and clients.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in billing software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Experience with payment posting and accounts receivable processes.
- Familiarity with healthcare billing codes and insurance regulations.
- Ability to analyze and resolve billing issues and discrepancies.
