Hosts create exceptional first and lasting impressions by welcoming every guest with genuine hospitality and ensuring a smooth, organized dining experience from arrival to departure.
This position anticipates guest needs before they are asked, manages restaurant flow, seating, reservations, and waitlists, while supporting the restaurant through cross-training, food running, and facility knowledge. Hosts help create memorable guest experiences by confidently answering questions and introducing guests to everything Henderson Sport & Social has to offer.

- Demonstrate menu knowledge while confidently answering guest questions and recommending food, beverages, promotions, and facility offerings.
- Communicate effectively with servers, bussers, food runners, kitchen staff, and leadership.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Welcome and acknowledge every guest immediately with a genuine, friendly greeting. When assisting another guest, promptly acknowledge new arrivals and communicate that you will be with them shortly.
- Operate the POS and reservation management system while managing reservations, waitlists, guest notifications, quoted wait times, and seating assignments.
- Escort guests to their tables while accommodating seating preferences, ADA requests, and operational needs whenever possible.
- Anticipate guest needs by ensuring tables are properly prepared, adjusting place settings as needed, and introducing daily specials or seasonal features.
- Maintain awareness of restaurant flow by monitoring table availability and communicating with servers and bussers to ensure efficient seating rotations.
- Resolve simple guest concerns whenever possible while recognizing when leadership support is needed.
- Cross-train as a Food Runner and assist with to-go orders to develop menu knowledge. Cross-train in Guest Services and the Redemption Counter to support facility operations as business needs require.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming entrance, host stand, waiting area, menus, and surrounding guest areas throughout each shift.
- Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, restocking, and additional operational duties as assigned.
- Remain productive during slower business periods by proactively supporting restaurant and facility operations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Ability to operate a POS and reservation management system or willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication and guest service skills.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Positive attitude with a passion for hospitality and teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous restaurant, hospitality, retail, or guest service experience.
- Working knowledge of food and beverage menus.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Frequently lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds with assistance when necessary.
- Bend, kneel, reach, and move efficiently throughout the restaurant.
- Work in a fast-paced hospitality environment while maintaining a professional appearance.
