About Us
Custom Care Taking & Landscaping has served the Wisconsin Northwoods since 1999, maintaining and building properties for high-end residential clients across the region. We are a growing, process-driven company with an expanding field services platform. Our culture is meritocratic and flat. People who deliver results move up fast.
The Role
We are looking for a skilled Small Engine Mechanic to keep our equipment fleet running at peak performance. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of outdoor power equipment including mowers, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, and other small engine machinery used across our landscaping and snow removal operations. This is a full-time, hands-on role with real ownership over equipment readiness and fleet health.
What You Will Do
Diagnose and repair two-stroke and four-stroke small engines across a variety of commercial-grade equipment. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance including oil changes, blade sharpening, filter replacements, belt and cable adjustments, and seasonal prep. Identify parts needs and manage basic parts ordering and inventory. Keep accurate service records and flag recurring issues. Support field teams by minimizing equipment downtime.
What We Are Looking For
Proven hands-on experience repairing and maintaining small engines, ideally in a commercial or production setting. Ability to diagnose problems efficiently and work independently with minimal supervision. Strong mechanical aptitude with attention to detail. Organizational habits that keep the shop clean and parts accounted for. Experience with landscaping or outdoor power equipment brands is a plus. Valid driver's license preferred.
