Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Shipping Supervisor to lead our shipping operations and ensure seamless distribution processes. In this role, you will oversee daily shipping and receiving activities, manage warehouse distribution workflows, and coordinate logistics to meet delivery deadlines. Your leadership will drive process improvements, optimize inventory control, and uphold safety standards across the warehouse. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate all shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accurate and timely processing of outbound and inbound shipments
- Oversee inventory management practices, including inventory control, stock replenishment, and cycle counts using warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 platforms
- Manage warehouse distribution operations, optimizing workflow for efficiency and accuracy in materials handling and heavy lifting tasks
- Lead a team of warehouse staff, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback to foster a high-performing environment
- Implement process improvements to enhance shipping procedures, reduce errors, and increase productivity while maintaining compliance with OSHA safety standards
- Coordinate logistics with third-party logistics providers (3PL), freight carriers, and internal departments to ensure smooth transportation flows
- Maintain accurate shipping & receiving records, prepare documentation for shipments, and conduct regular audits for inventory accuracy
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse supervision or shipping & receiving roles within a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of inventory management systems (including WMS and AS400), logistics operations, and materials handling techniques
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively with excellent communication skills
- Mechanical knowledge related to warehouse equipment such as forklifts; forklift certification preferred
- Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations and best practices for heavy lifting and materials handling
- Experience working within e-commerce or 3PL environments is highly desirable
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and standing for extended periods; comfortable working in a physically demanding setting
