Job Overview
We are hiring for two kitchen positions at a Japanese hand roll and kushiyaki/yakitori restaurant located near Brea Mall:
- Hand Roll Chef
- Kushiyaki / Yakitori Cook
Both part-time and full-time positions are available. Applicants may apply for either position based on their experience and interests.
Hand Roll Chef Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve hand rolls according to restaurant recipes and presentation standards
- Prepare seafood, vegetables, sauces, rice, and other ingredients
- Maintain freshness, proper food storage, and portion control
- Keep the hand roll station clean, organized, and fully stocked
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures
Kushiyaki / Yakitori Cook Responsibilities
- Prepare, skewer, season, and grill meat, seafood, and vegetables
- Cook kushiyaki and yakitori with proper timing, temperature, and presentation
- Prepare sauces, marinades, and other ingredients for the grill station
- Keep the grill station clean, organized, and fully stocked
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures
Qualifications
- Experience with sushi, hand rolls, Japanese cuisine, yakitori, or grilling is preferred
- Paid training is available for qualified candidates
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work well with a team
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Basic English communication skills are preferred
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Schedule
- Monday: Closed
- Tuesday through Thursday: 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- Friday and Saturday: 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
- Sunday: 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Schedules may be adjusted based on availability.
Pay is based on experience.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
