Our established cardiology practice in the Tomball area is seeking an experienced Prior authorization/Billing specialist with strong expertise in medical billing, Prior authorization, insurance processes, and eClinicalWorks (eCW). Responsible for overseeing front office operations while managing and supervising billing activities to ensure accurate, timely revenue cycle performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Front Office Management:
- Oversee day-to-day front office workflow and staff performance
- Ensure efficient patient check-in/check-out processes
- Train, mentor, and supervise front desk staff
- Maintain scheduling accuracy and patient satisfaction standards
Billing / Revenue Cycle Oversight:
- Oversee all insurance verifications, prior authorizations, and eligibility checks
- Monitor daily charges, payments, and accounts receivable (A/R)
- Ensure accurate coding, claim submission, and timely follow-up on denials
- Track and reconcile deposits, payments, and all incoming revenue
- Coordinate with physicians and staff to correct coding or documentation issues
- Run billing and productivity reports through eClinicalWorks
Required Qualifications (Not Optional):
- Proficiency in eClinicalWorks (eCW) is REQUIRED
- Cardiology practice experience is REQUIRED
- Strong background in medical billing and revenue cycle management
- Proven experience supervising front-office and/or billing staff
- Comprehensive understanding of insurance verification, prior authorization, coding, and reimbursement processes
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience resolving complex A/R issues
- Familiarity with Medicare, commercial payor rules, and cardiology-specific coding
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
