Position Summary
At our credit union, people come first—always. We are seeking a dedicated Member Service Representative who will serve as a trusted liaison between our members and the credit union. In this role, you will deliver accurate, timely, and compassionate service while supporting members in achieving long-term financial well-being.
Guided by member-first integrity, you will provide education, personalized support, and access to financial solutions that empower members to make confident financial decisions. Key Responsibilities
Member-First Service & Relationship Building
- Greet and welcome members and visitors with professionalism, warmth, and respect.
- Provide prompt, accurate, and efficient transactional services while maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
- Deliver in-person, phone, email, and electronic support related to credit union services, policies, and accounts.
- Respond to member questions, concerns, and complaints with empathy and professionalism, resolving issues or referring to appropriate team members as needed.
- Research and resolve discrepancies related to deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and debit/credit card transactions, including fraud and disputes.
- Assist members in balancing accounts and completing payroll deduction and direct deposit forms.
Account Services & Financial Empowerment
- Open new accounts and service existing member accounts, ensuring a smooth and welcoming onboarding experience.
- Establish and maintain accurate account records and provide members with all required membership information.
- Assist members with:
- Share transfers and loan payments
- Share withdrawals and check requests
- Certificate of Deposit (CD) transactions
- Line of credit advances
- Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs)
- Debit and credit card accounts
- Provide information on deposit and investment alternatives, helping members choose solutions that align with their financial goals.
Product Awareness & Community Focus
- Identify member needs and recommend appropriate credit union products and services that support financial success.
- Process member mail transactions and ensure receipts and checks are mailed according to policy.
- Represent the credit union’s commitment to community by fostering positive relationships and delivering service that reflects the philosophy of people helping people.
Teamwork & Culture
- Contribute to a supportive, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with members and coworkers.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support team success and organizational goals.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous customer service and/or cash handling experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn financial systems.
