CLINICAL INFORMATICIST IT
Required:
Associate’s degree in nursing, Medicine, Pharmacy, Health Informatics, or a closely related clinical or health sciences field.
Active clinical licensure required (e.g., RN, PharmD, MD/DO, APRN, or equivalent)
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, clinical informatics, EHR implementation, or health IT role.
Working knowledge of Epic or a comparable enterprise EHR platform.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in health informatics, Clinical Informatics, Nursing Informatics, Nursing, or a related field strongly preferred.
Hands-on experience with Epic build, workflow design, or clinical decision support configuration.
Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, and clinical interoperability concepts.
Experience with quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., CMS, Joint Commission, HIPAA).
Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent a plus.
Epic certification in one or more relevant modules (e.g., Inpatient Clinical Documentation, Ambulatory, Orders Management, Willow, or Beacon). Must be willing to obtain certification if not already possessed.
The Clinical Informaticist acts as a specialist in healthcare, developing processes and tools that integrate patient care, technology, and data to enhance clinical outcomes, safety, and operational efficiency. This role bridges clinical practice with health information technology, particularly in the areas of clinical software design, usability, and workflow optimization. This role in the Information Systems Department helps implement, optimize, and operate clinical systems—mainly Epic EHR—to support patient care, clinician workflows, and safety. The Clinical Informaticist works with clinical staff, IT teams, and stakeholders to turn clinical needs into technology solutions.
