Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver dynamic lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating educational technology and instructional design principles.
- Adapt teaching strategies and instructional modifications to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities, including those with developmental disabilities, autism, visual impairments, or other special needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and parents to create individualized education plans (IEPs) that set clear goals and track student progress effectively.
- Manage classroom behavior through positive behavior management techniques tailored for students with behavioral health challenges or special needs.
- Utilize evidence-based practices such as speech therapy techniques, applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavioral therapy, music therapy, and recreational therapy to enhance learning outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, conduct assessments including standardized testing, and ensure compliance with special education law and educational regulations.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to provide updates on student development, address concerns, and foster a supportive partnership for learning success.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience in early childhood education or preschool settings is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated expertise in special education, including experience working with students with disabilities or developmental delays.
- Knowledge of curriculum development for literacy education, math, physical education, and other core subjects.
- Familiarity with learning technology tools and educational technology integration to enhance instructional delivery.
- Experience working with children in private schools or early intervention programs is a plus.
- Strong understanding of IEP processes, special education law, instructional modifications, and behavioral health strategies.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with teaching teams, therapists, parents, and community resources to support student success.
