This position provides experience in mentoring, outreach, student engagement, and supporting college readiness initiatives.
As a Peer Mentor, you will help high school students successfully transition into college coursework and navigate their dual credit experience.

The student hired for this position should:
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Be comfortable working with high school students, families, and college staff in both individual and group settings
- Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and the ability to work independently
- Be organized and able to manage multiple responsibilities
- Be comfortable assisting students with navigating college systems such as the student portal, email, and learning management systems
- Show interest in supporting student success and college readiness
- Demonstrate sensitivity and respect when working with students from diverse backgrounds and experiences
- Have prior experience with dual credit preferred
- Have leadership, mentoring, tutoring, or student organization experience preferred
- Bilingual or multilingual ability (Spanish, Arabic, Polish, etc.) is helpful but not required
Responsibilities include:
Providing one-on-one and group mentoring to dual credit students (in-person and virtual)
Assisting students with onboarding steps such as registration, placement testing, and navigating college systems including the student portal, email, and learning management system
Sharing strategies for time management, study skills, and balancing high school and college coursework
Serving as a relatable resource to help students build confidence and a sense of belonging in college
Supporting outreach efforts at local high schools and community events
Assisting with orientations, information sessions, and student engagement activities
Helping connect students and families with campus resources and support services
Collaborating with staff to track student participation and engagement
Assisting with data entry related to attendance tracking, surveys, and mentoring logs
Helping distribute outreach materials such as program guides, career pathway information, and student success resources
Supporting inclusive engagement practices that promote access and student success
Other duties as assigned
Additional Requirements
Experience participating in dual credit strongly preferred
