Under the direction of Director, Center for Dyslexia Studies, the incumbent’s primary responsibilities will be clinical, involving the provision of support to adjuncts teaching in the Orton Gillingham (OG) program. In addition, the Dyslexia Studies Curriculum Coordinator will be involved in assisting faculty in developing, revising, and disseminating information about the Orton Gillingham curriculum.
Required Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree required in Learning Disabilities, Special Education or a related academic discipline is preferred.
2. Certified at the International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council (IMSLEC) Instructor of Teaching level or in the process of being certified is required.
3. Ability to support adjunct faculty in teaching the OG curriculum is required.
4. Three years’ experience teaching students using the Orton Gillingham approach is required.
5. Three years’ experience training teachers in the Orton Gillingham approach is preferred.
6. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check.
