We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Electrical Controls Technician to join our dynamic BHS Electrical team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electrical control systems across our production facilities. Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical control systems including low voltage and high voltage equipment
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately
- Maintain and calibrate sensors, vision inspection systems, and precision measuring instruments to ensure precise operation
- Program, troubleshoot, and optimize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) for manufacturing processes
- Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical components such as motors, sensors, relays, and circuit boards
- Perform field service tasks including installation of new equipment and upgrades in manufacturing environments
- Use AutoCAD to develop or modify electrical schematics and layouts for system improvements
- Test electrical circuits with tools like ohmmeters and calibrate instrumentation for accuracy
- Support the integration of CNC machinery and other automated equipment into production lines
- Collaborate with mechanical teams to resolve issues involving hydraulics, pneumatics, or mechanical components that impact electrical systems
- Ensure compliance with safety standards related to high voltage and industrial electrical codes
Requirements
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician or controls technician in a manufacturing setting
- Strong knowledge of E & I (Electrical & Instrumentation) systems including calibration techniques
- Familiarity with hydraulics, mechanical knowledge, and industrial maintenance practices
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, vision inspection systems, and DCS platforms such as Calypso or similar software
- Ability to read schematics accurately using AutoCAD or similar design tools
- Experience working with low voltage and high voltage electrical systems in an industrial environment
- Knowledge of CNC machinery operation and troubleshooting is preferred
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments like ohmmeters for diagnostics
- Strong customer service skills to support internal teams and field service operations
- Military background or certifications related to industrial electrical work are a plus
- Journeyman Electrican would be a big plus
