Mark Christopher Auto Center is a well-established, family-owned and operated GM dealership in Ontario, California. We are looking for a dependable, hardworking Lot Porter to join our team and help maintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional vehicle inventory.
Position Overview
The Lot Porter is responsible for maintaining the appearance and organization of our vehicle inventory, assisting with the receiving and movement of new vehicles, and ensuring vehicles are properly secured and positioned throughout the dealership.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure new and used vehicle inventory.
- Move and park vehicles throughout the dealership lot as needed.
- Assist with checking in and receiving new vehicles from transport carriers.
- Inspect incoming vehicles for obvious damage and accurately document any concerns.
- Verify vehicle identification numbers and other required information during vehicle check-in.
- Ensure vehicles are parked in the appropriate inventory locations.
- Keep vehicle keys and inventory areas organized and secure.
- Assist with vehicle staging for sales, service, deliveries, and customer appointments.
- Maintain a clean and presentable dealership lot, including removing debris and keeping designated areas organized.
- Assist with vehicle fueling, charging, washing, and other basic lot duties as needed.
- Follow all dealership safety and security procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Valid California driver's license and a good driving record.
- Ability to safely operate both automatic and manual-transmission vehicles is preferred.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely move and park vehicles in a busy dealership environment.
- Ability to work independently while also being a team player.
- Previous dealership, automotive, or lot porter experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person.
