Duties
- Mow lawns using various types of mowers and power tools to ensure even, healthy turf.
- Trim trees, shrubs, and hedges with hand tools or power equipment to maintain desired shapes and safety standards.
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment such as aerators, blowers, trimmers, and irrigation systems with precision and safety awareness.
- Identify different plants, weeds, pests, and diseases to support effective landscape management and plant health.
- Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and troubleshoot issues as needed.
- Apply pesticides or fertilizers following strict safety protocols to promote plant growth and pest control.
- Perform hardscape maintenance including cleaning pathways, repairing small structures, and preparing sites for planting or landscaping projects.
Experience
- Prior outdoor work experience in landscaping, gardening, or grounds maintenance is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated mechanical knowledge related to lawn care equipment, power tools, and irrigation systems.
- Familiarity with landscape maintenance techniques such as mowing, pruning, planting, and soil preparation.
- Knowledge of horticulture principles including plant identification and pest management practices.
- Ability to follow safety protocols diligently while operating equipment or handling chemicals.
- Experience with snow plowing or winter grounds maintenance is a plus but not required.
- Strong physical stamina for outdoor work in various weather conditions; ability to lift heavy equipment or materials when necessary.
