Summary
Under limited supervision, the Sr. Maintenance Technician performs advanced maintenance activities and/or operates complex facility, utility, HVAC, and production support systems. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, predictive maintenance, and implementing corrective actions to prevent equipment failures, ensuring smooth and reliable plant operations.
Responsibilities
- Execute advanced maintenance tasks or operate and monitor complex plant support equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment/system failures using predictive maintenance technologies.
- Maintain an accurate spare parts inventory system for assigned equipment.
- Keep work areas and equipment clean and organized.
- Accurately complete operational logs, daily reports, and work order documentation.
- Train and support team members to develop technical knowledge and skills.
- Develop, review, and revise SOPs, job plans, and maintenance procedures.
- Evaluate and assist in optimizing maintenance programs.
- Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic schematics, including HVAC, utility systems, and P&IDs.
- Support installation, start-up, and validation of new equipment.
- Participate in on-call rotation for emergency maintenance support.
- Apply advanced maintenance technologies such as alignment, balancing, thermography, vibration analysis, oil analysis, ultrasound, and motor circuit testing.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and standard operating procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate degree + 6 months of maintenance or military experience OR High School Diploma/GED + 2 years of maintenance or military experience.
- Associate Degree in Industrial Mechanics or related field.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic schematics.
- Experience setting machines for proper mechanical and electronic timing.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance and safe work practices.
- Basic understanding of automation and vision systems.
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.
- Knowledge of GMP regulations and controlled manufacturing processes.
- Experience with predictive maintenance technologies and reliability practices.
