Job Overview
A Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for all aspects of nursing care delivery and acts as a department lead of the OR, Preop, and PACU. The DON is also responsible for OR circulation, assessing, planning, implementing and coordinating patient care from admission to discharge and overseeing quality improvement, risk management, infection control, and education of center teammates.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team in providing exceptional care in our facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various healthcare settings. This role requires a compassionate leader who can effectively manage nursing staff, oversee patient care plans, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
This position averages 32 hours weekly, with variable shifts according to surgery schedules Monday-Thursday (no nights, weekends, on-call).
Salary is higher for certified nurse sedation
Responsibilities
- Oversee the nursing department and ensure high standards of patient care are maintained.
- Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Supervise nursing staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional development.
- Conduct regular assessments of patient care plans and ensure they are updated as necessary.
- Manage documentation review processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care for patients.
- Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and Medicare regulations.
- Utilize EMR and EHR systems for effective management of medical records and documentation.
- Lead shift management activities to ensure adequate staffing levels and quality of care during all shifts.
Experience
- Proven experience in nursing administration or a similar leadership role within healthcare settings (minimum 2 years).
- Strong background in outpatient surgical or hospital care (minimum 2 years).
- Demonstrated ability to manage staff effectively while fostering a positive work environment.
- Familiarity with nurse management practices and supervising experience is essential.
