This is an entry-level position in our Prototype Department assisting high-level CNC Machinists with high precision prototype components. This is a great way for someone interested in a manufacturing career to get their foot in the door!
Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and determines sequence of operations.
Moves controls to position tool and workpiece in relation to each other, and to set specified feeds, speeds, and depth of cut.
Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of machined workpiece to specifications.
Operates machines and equipment other than machine tools.
Completes in-process inspection sheets.
Washes, polishes, and inspects various parts.
Assists the clean room attendant
Responsible for learning various manual machining operations.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
