The Director of Clinical Operations is responsible for coaching/mentoring Founding Leads, developing clinical leadership skills, supporting/implementing Livewell Standards of Care, and providing input/expertise on the broader clinical strategy.
Provide guidance, mentorship, and leadership support to Founding Leads currently serving in leadership positions at existing Livewell practices, as well as those transitioning into leadership roles at future practices.
Key responsibilities include:

Serve as the primary manager for all Founding Leads.

Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to:

Discuss challenges and opportunities.

Review goals and key performance indicators.

Provide actionable feedback.

Support ongoing leadership development.

Partner with Hospital Managers to address team-management and performance concerns.

Help resolve clinical and medical issues as they arise.
-
Use real-world scenarios to strengthen decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Establish a peer-mentorship or “buddy” program that pairs new Founding Leads with experienced leaders.

Facilitate group meetings where Founding Leads can share successes, challenges, lessons learned, and opportunities.

Foster collaboration across practices and reduce a siloed approach to leadership.
Conduct regular site visits to:

Assess clinical quality standards and compliance.

Identify areas for improvement and development.
-
Evaluate the partnership between the Hospital Manager and Founding DVM.

Recommend and support corrective or developmental action plans.
Develop and implement a unified, high-quality clinical care model across all Livewell practices. The clinical strategy should support:

Design and implement programs that strengthen leadership capabilities and clinical expertise through:

Develop a comprehensive Livewell Leadership Playbook that addresses:

Workplace culture and the connection between leadership, culture, and behavior.

Feedback loops and regular communication with the Livewell leadership team.

Recognition and reward programs.
Provide clinical insight and subject-matter expertise to support the development of Livewell’s Standards of Care.
Responsibilities include:

Maintain all required licenses and credentials in active, good-standing status.

Build relationships with clinical experts and industry partners to support ongoing innovation and improvement.

Active DVM license in good standing.
-
Previous clinical or operational leadership experience required, ideally supporting multiple locations or teams remotely.

Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a multisite environment.

Demonstrated experience planning and managing initiatives at both strategic and operational levels.

Experience coaching veterinary leaders and navigating clinical, people, and operational challenges.

Ability to coach, influence, and develop experienced veterinary leaders.

Strong relationship-building and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Ability to balance clinical quality with financial and operational priorities.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Intermediate proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

English fluency sufficient to successfully perform the position’s essential duties and responsibilities.
